After Kim Porter’s family declared it was fake, Amazon removed a book about Sean “Diddy” Combs. Claimed to be telling Kim Porter’s narrative with Diddy, the book “Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice, from the Other Side,”
Children of Porter and Combs claimed the book was full of lies and urged Amazon to take it off. They claimed it did not capture the actual life of their mother.
On Amazon, the book started to gather popularity in September. It levelled grave accusations—including abuse—against Diddy. Under the name Jamal T. Millwood, the author claimed to have learned his knowledge from intimate friends of Porter and Combs.
Amazon chose to remove the book following the family complaint. According to an Amazon spokesman, they let the publisher know about the problem. Amazon is not now selling the book.
This event emphasizes the need to verify facts before publishing. It also emphasizes how families might guard the legacies of their loved ones.
