New York City cop John McClane is visiting his distanced spouse (Bonnie Bedelia) and two daughters on Christmas Eve. He joins her at a party in the central command of the Japanese-claimed business she works for. In any case, the celebrations are hindered by a group of terrorists who grab control over the restrictive skyscraper, and everybody in it. Very soon McClane understands that there’s nobody to save the prisoners – – except him.
