After a year of his heroics in L.A, detective John McClane is stirred up in another militant plot at Washington Dulles International Airport, while waiting for his wife. That very evening, South American politico and medication opportunist Ramon Esperanza expose himself to U.S. custody. McClane makes a move when a traitorous ex-colonel grasp control of the air terminal, taking steps to crash each inbound flight except if Esperanza is liberated.
