Following claims of bigotry and harassment behind-stage, her chat show concluded in 2022 after 19 seasons. Ellen assumed ownership as the host even though she was not specifically implicated. She pledged to rectify things and said apologies to her employees.
Ellen makes lighthearted jokes about being “kicked out of show business” in her presentation due to the scandal She also muses over how she used to close her show by urging attendees to “be kind to one another.” Ellen says this made it difficult for her to ever act unkindly.
