Comedy writer Eric Gilliland known for his work on “Roseanne—has passed away. Having cancer, he passed away on September 1.
Eric started his TV writing career on “Who’s the Boss?” and eventually wrote for other hit series like “The Wonder Years,” “That “70s Show,” and “My Boys.” In 2019 he worked on “The Conners.”
Many in the TV business have related their memories of Eric. Co-creator of “Modern Family Steve Levitan recalled how they connected over their passion for “The Dick Van Dyke Show” and other great comedy shows. Another Roseanne writer, Stan Zimmerman, related a humorous tale about a practical joke they played on set.
Many individuals found delight in Eric’s work; his friends, family, and supporters will be deeply missed.
