Not paying child support led Tyrese Gibson, a Fast and Furious actor, to be arrested in court.
He appeared in court for a hearing over child custody. The judge informed him he owed $73,000, which included legal fees plus what he owed. Tyrese had only been paying half what he should have been every month.
The judge chose to arrest him as he disobeyed court directives. Tyrese will remain in jail until he pays the whole amount; he was taken into custody right there in the courtroom.
Tyrese put a video on Instagram before the court hearing. He discussed maybe being arrested on the video and offered his opinions on the family court system.
Tyrese is now working to organize the payment so he may leave jail. This legal dispute is still under progress and it is unclear what will follow.
