Renowned singer Janet Jackson recently discussed her past marriages and said they were her biggest letdown. She expressed her ideas on her relationships and future aspirations in an interview with The Guardian.
Janet has three marriage certificates. 1984 saw her first marriage to James DeBarge end. She later wed Rene Elizondo Jr., but their marriage broke up in 2000. Her last marriage was to Wissam Al Mana, which broke up in 2017 not long after their son Eissa was born.
Janet claimed her last marriage was the most unsatisfactory. She mentioned being in controlling relationships and wants to stop this pattern. “I pray to God that I could have different lenses on these eyes than I did before,” Janet said. If her friends showed up once more, she thinks they would enable her to spot any negative trends.
Janet also discussed raising her son Eissa apart from her upbringing. She wants him to live his childhood free from having to work like she did. “I want him to experience being a child because you don’t get to do this over,” Janet said.
When Janet thought back on her early years, she said she was glad she disliked some things as a child now. She attributes her grounding to her parents.
Janet’s honest feelings reveal her will to go ahead and provide her son with a better future.
