Renowned for her performance in “Wednesday, Jenna Ortega has offered her opinions on female-led projects. She thinks women should write their own original stories rather than supporting spinoffs from men-led films.
Jenna mentioned in a recent interview that she enjoys seeing more female leads in TV shows and films. She does, however, object to seeing characters like “Jamie Bond, a female James Bond variant.” Rather, she yearns for fresh, unique female characters who drive the narrative forward and are central.
Jenna’s comments came during the promotion of her new movie, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.” She was asked whether she would be open to performing a gender-flipped rendition of a well-known manly character. Jenna said she enjoys working on projects with original female characters that tell fresh stories.
Jenna’s position is unambiguous: women are entitled to their franchises, not only copy-cat versions of current ones. In this sense, girls can have special and strong roles that transcend mere adaptations of masculine characters.
