Joaquin Phoenix has finally talked about why he quit Todd Haynes’ latest project. This took place during a press conference for his forthcoming film, Joker: Folie à Deux at the Venice Film Festival.
Phoenix was questioned about why he quit the picture just five days before filming commenced. It wouldn’t be fair, he argued, to discuss it without including the other parties engaged. He left without clearly stating his reasons.
The film was meant to be a 1930s homosexual romantic comedy set. Phoenix had worked on the project with Haynes for years. Originally set to film in Mexico, the film is currently on hold.
Phoenix is working hard on his part in the new Joker film, where Lady Gaga acts with him. The film will premiere shortly.
