At the Harlem’s Design Push Design Appear & Fashion Grants on September 3, there was an important moment between Naomi Campbell and Anna Wintour. Anna, the editor-in-chief of Fashion, was set to allow Naomi the Mold Symbol Grant. But some time recently she did, and she commented on Naomi frequently being late.
Anna said, “I am a punctual person, and I have the honour of displaying today evening time to somebody who is regularly late.” After this, Anna cleared out early to go to the US Open, and Samira Nasr, the editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar, ventured in to show the grant to Naomi.
When Naomi got on stage, she responded with humour. She said, “Yes, Naomi’s always late. But I accept in my higher control, and I need to thank my higher control for having me be here.” Naomi too said she was cheerful to have Samira present the grant, including, “Everything’s going to work out the way it’s meant to work out.”
The audience was shocked and chuckled. The video of this minute rapidly went viral on social media, with many people talking about the funny and unexpected exchange.
