Shakira recently left fans breathless with a highly emotional photo shoot for GQ magazine. The selfies revealed her in a black silicone bra, mesh skirt, burgundy PVC top, and lace-up black boots. Those shots form part of her latest album, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,” in which she narrates her healing process after her separation from Gerard Piqué.
Shakira said during an interview that it was very hard to accept her vulnerability after their 11-year relationship. She said music has helped her grieve and heal. She said, “It wasn’t easy to acknowledge all the vulnerability I felt at the time. For many months after my separation, I remained silent, trying to begin mourning, but I couldn’t truly start grieving until I began writing music.”
But Shakira also maintains that when she sees Piqué with his new girlfriend it hurts. Still, Shakira sheds light upon her life having become better ever since they broke up.
Her new album talks about every stage of her break-up. How else can her strength and resilience be visualized than in this photoshoot and interview?
