Starr Carter is continually exchanging between two universes – – poor people, for the most part dark neighborhood where she resides and the well off, for the most part white private academy that she joins in. The uncomfortable harmony between these universes is before long broken when she observes the deadly shooting of her youth closest companion because of a cop. Confronting tension from all sides of the local area, Starr should get comfortable with herself and choose to support common decency.
